Mr Binz is proud to be a good corporate citizen in our local community.

We sponsor both the Under-14 and the Under-19 teams at the Norwest United Soccer Club.

The Mr Binz U14 soccer team is coached by Daniel Sumner, with a team of young, eager players who have come up through the grades. Daniel kept the guys focussed thoughout the season and produced some great wins over the top teams. This team was an inspiration to watch every weekend with the skill levels all coming together to make for a tough but satisfying season.

This Under-19 grade provided a challenge to the 2005 Mr Binz team and was a big step up for most of the boys, who were playing up a grade.  They were a committed bunch of guys who turned up week in week out and battled valiantly.  Coached by Graham Keates, they played 24 games with 2 wins and 2 draws.

We also sponsor the Mr Binz Green Machine team in our local children's Touch Rugby competition. They competed in a competition at Massey Rugby Club on Thursday nights.

A mixed team of girls and boys with some experienced and some newcomers to the game.  The team played very well gaining fourth in the competition.   They showed what a lot of determination and commitment in a team environment can achieve.

We are also proud supporters of the Kumeu-Huapai Volunteer Fire Brigade, which Mr Binz owner Stephen Sparnon joined in 2001, qualifying first as a fire fighter, then pump operator, senior fire fighter and currently station officer.

The brigade train every Monday evening, and competing in fire fighter competitions and the Sky Tower stair climbs to add a touch of fun to the more serious side their work as a volunteer fire brigade.
